Your fiction project stays on your side. Fiction Continuity Tools does not operate a user-account or project-storage database.

Who operates this site
Fiction Continuity Tools is operated by WRS Web Solutions Inc. in Ontario, Canada. This policy explains how the public website, advertising, local project workspace, ordinary server logs and restricted contact channel handle information.
Your project contents
The project workspace is designed to process your series, books, chapters, characters, relationships, pregnancies, events, notes and other project information in your browser. Fiction Continuity Tools does not provide a WRS user account or server-side project database, and the application is designed not to intentionally upload or store your project contents on WRS servers.
You choose where to keep your project file, such as on your computer, in a OneDrive-synchronized folder, on an external drive or in another location you control. WRS does not keep a project copy, back it up, inspect it or provide project recovery. You are responsible for saving and backing up your files.
Local files and browser storage
When you open or save a project file, your browser handles access to the file or download location you select. Optional browser recovery data may be stored locally in browser storage on your device. Browser-stored data may be removed if you clear site data, use private browsing, change browsers or devices, or if the browser removes stored data. The site cannot recover locally deleted information.
Information received when you visit public pages
Like most websites, our server, hosting platform and security infrastructure may automatically receive technical request information such as your IP address, date and time of access, requested URL, referring page, browser and device information, response status and error or security details. This information may be used to operate, secure, troubleshoot and protect the website.
Google AdSense and advertising technologies
Public pages may display advertising through Google AdSense. The private project workspace is designed without AdSense advertising code.
As a consequence of using Google advertising services, Google and its advertising partners may collect, receive, share and use information through cookies, web beacons, IP addresses and other identifiers. Depending on the visitor, consent choices and applicable law, this may include information about the page viewed, browser or device, approximate location, advertising interactions and prior activity used to deliver, personalize, limit, measure and protect advertising and to detect fraud and abuse.
For more information, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services, Google's advertising information and Google's Privacy Policy.
Consent and advertising choices
Where required, visitors may be shown a Google or Google-certified consent-management message. For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the message may request consent for cookies or other local storage and for the collection, sharing and use of personal data for advertising. Messages or restricted-data-processing settings may also be used for applicable United States privacy requirements.
You may be able to manage choices through the privacy message shown on the site, your browser's cookie controls, device settings, recognized privacy signals where supported, and Google My Ad Center. Blocking cookies or scripts may affect advertising or some public-page features.
Contact information you choose to provide
If you use the restricted contact route, WRS may receive the information you choose to provide, such as your name, email address and message. Contact is limited to legal, privacy, copyright, accessibility, security and material public-site matters. Do not send or attach private project files. Contact records may be retained as reasonably necessary to respond, document the matter, meet legal obligations and protect the site.
OneDrive and other third-party storage
If you save a project in OneDrive, Dropbox, Google Drive, a network drive or another third-party location, that storage relationship is between you and the provider you selected. Fiction Continuity Tools does not sign in to those services, control their synchronization or receive your project through them. Their own terms and privacy policies apply.
How information may be shared
WRS does not sell or rent project contents, and ordinarily does not receive those contents. Technical website information may be processed by hosting, security and advertising providers as needed to provide their services. Information may also be disclosed where reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to lawful process, protect rights or security, investigate abuse or maintain the service.
Retention
WRS does not retain a server-side copy of your project. Technical logs are retained according to routine hosting, security and operational practices. Contact information is kept only as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was received, legal obligations, recordkeeping and dispute or security needs.
Your choices and privacy requests
You control your local project files and can delete or move them without contacting WRS. You can clear browser-stored recovery data through the application or browser controls. For personal information WRS actually holds through a contact submission or ordinary site operations, you may request access, correction or deletion where applicable, subject to legal and security limitations.
Security
The site uses HTTPS and minimizes server-side collection by design. No website, browser, storage device or synchronization service can be guaranteed completely secure. Protect your device, OneDrive or other storage account, project files and backups appropriately.
Children's privacy
The service is a general author tool and is not designed to collect children's project contents through an account or hosted database. Do not use the restricted contact channel to submit unnecessary personal information about a child.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when the site, advertising practices or legal requirements change. The current version and update date will be posted on this page.
Contact
Privacy questions or requests may be submitted through the restricted contact page. Do not attach project files; WRS cannot review, repair, back up or recover them.
