Terms of use
These terms set the boundary between the free browser-based tool and the project files that remain under the user's control.

Operator and acceptance
Fiction Continuity Tools is operated by WRS Web Solutions Inc. By accessing or using the site, public calculators or project workspace, you agree to these Terms of Use and the related Privacy Policy and Disclaimer. Do not use the service if you do not accept them.
Free self-service service
The site provides free, self-service tools and educational information for fiction planning and continuity work. No subscription, user account, hosted project storage, cloud synchronization operated by WRS, individual technical support or data-recovery service is included.
Limited permission to use the site
You may use the public tools and workspace for lawful personal, educational or business writing projects. This permission is non-exclusive, revocable and does not transfer ownership of the website, application code, design, documentation, branding or public content.
Your project content
You retain whatever rights you have in your own characters, story ideas, notes, timelines and project files. WRS does not claim ownership of your project content merely because you use the application.
Your files, storage and backups
Your project is intended to be stored on your side in a file or browser location you choose and control. You are responsible for choosing a suitable location, saving changes, maintaining independent backups, protecting access, checking file integrity and confirming that OneDrive or any other synchronization service is operating as you expect.
WRS does not keep a project copy, back up project files or provide recovery. Clearing browser data, overwriting or deleting a file, hardware failure, synchronization conflicts, browser changes or service discontinuation may result in lost work. Download and keep regular backups.
No individual support
The service is provided on a self-service basis. WRS does not provide individual project troubleshooting, file repair, data recovery, browser or OneDrive configuration, project conversion, manuscript review or personalized technical support. Do not send project files through the contact channel.
Calculations and continuity warnings
Age, date, pregnancy, due-period, relationship and continuity calculations are planning aids based on the information entered and the assumptions described in the Calculation Methodology. Results may be incomplete, approximate or wrong if dates are uncertain, information is missing, the browser behaves unexpectedly or the story intentionally departs from ordinary chronology.
Pregnancy and birth calculations are provided only for fictional continuity planning and are not medical advice, diagnosis or guidance for a real pregnancy. Consult an appropriate qualified professional for real-world medical questions.
Advertising
Public pages may contain advertising supplied by Google AdSense or other disclosed advertising services. Advertising helps support the free site but does not influence the application's continuity calculations or editorial explanations. Third-party ads and linked destinations are controlled by their respective providers, not WRS.
You must not generate invalid advertising activity, click ads dishonestly, encourage others to click ads, use automated means to interact with ads, disguise ad activity or interfere with advertising delivery or measurement.
Acceptable use
You must not misuse the site, attempt unauthorized access, probe or disrupt the server, introduce malware, overwhelm the service with automated requests, bypass technical restrictions, scrape the site at unreasonable volume, impersonate another person, infringe rights, or use the service for unlawful purposes.
Third-party services and links
The site may refer or link to Google, OneDrive, browser vendors and other third-party services. Those services are independent and governed by their own terms and privacy practices. A link or compatibility reference does not mean WRS controls, endorses or guarantees the third party.
Intellectual property and public-site content
The application, interface, public guides, calculators, logo and other site materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. You may use generated reports and exports for your own project, but you may not reproduce, resell, mirror or redistribute substantial parts of the application or public content without permission, except where law permits.
Availability, compatibility and changes
The site may be updated, interrupted, restricted, changed or discontinued at any time. Browser, operating-system, security, OneDrive or web-standard changes may affect file access or other functions. WRS does not promise permanent availability, backward compatibility with every project version or support for every device or browser.
No warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the site, application, calculations, content and availability are provided “as is” and “as available,” without representations or warranties of accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted operation, compatibility, security, data preservation or non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, WRS Web Solutions Inc. and its directors, officers, employees, contractors and suppliers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive, consequential or similar losses arising from the site or its use, including lost or corrupted project data, lost writing, lost opportunities, lost revenue, business interruption or reliance on calculations.
Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, WRS's aggregate liability relating to the free service will be limited to the greater of the amount you paid WRS specifically for the service during the twelve months before the claim and CAD $10. Because the service is free, the amount paid will ordinarily be zero. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded or limits mandatory rights.
Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to be responsible for claims, losses and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful misuse of the site, infringement of another person's rights or violation of these terms.
Suspension or blocking
WRS may block access, restrict requests or take other reasonable measures to protect the service, users, advertising accounts, infrastructure or legal rights when misuse, security threats or policy violations are suspected.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, subject to mandatory consumer or other rights that cannot be waived in a user's jurisdiction.
Severability and no waiver
If a provision is found unenforceable, it will be limited or removed only to the extent necessary and the remaining provisions will continue. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated when the service, advertising, technology or legal requirements change. Continued use after revised terms are posted means you accept the revised terms to the extent permitted by law.
